Authorized-User SMS Alerts and Consent

SMS alerts are available only to authorized recipients approved through OKWX Monitor’s controlled access process.

This page explains how authorized recipients may receive SMS alerts from OKWX Monitor, how consent is captured, and how SMS activation is completed. This is not a public self-registration service.

A person must first be added or approved through OKWX Monitor’s controlled access process. After approval, the system sends a secure invitation or secure preference-management link.

How Access Begins

Access begins when an authorized administrator or staff member adds or approves a recipient in the system before SMS activation is offered.

What Happens After Approval

Once approved, the recipient is sent a secure invitation or secure preference-management link. That secure link is used to review disclosures, capture consent, verify the phone number, and enable SMS alert delivery.

Authorized-User SMS Flow

  • The person is added or approved through OKWX Monitor’s controlled access process.
  • The system records the recipient in the system.
  • The system sends a secure invitation or secure preference-management link.
  • The recipient reviews the SMS disclosure and direct-consent language.
  • The recipient verifies the mobile number using a verification code.
  • SMS alerts are enabled only after consent and verification succeed.

Consent Language Model

The live SMS preferences page should use the exact production wording. The following public-facing model is aligned to the authorized-user flow.
